Reading Goals?

Do you set goals for yourself each year? How many books to read? What type of books to read? Time spent reading? Anything like that?

I like to read around one hundred books a year, if possible. I do read a lot of middle-grade books, so that might make it a little easier. But as long as I am over fifty-two books (a book a week), I am happy with my reading habits.

I will share my reading stats with friends and family, but I don’t go out of my way to let strangers know my reading habits. I know I am posting my reading habits on a public blog, but how many are actually reading this? Also, I don’t care if you read one book a year or three hundred whatever makes you happy.

I can understand people wanting to read fewer books and take their time to read and understand, and maybe even journal about what they read. I will admit, I read my books, jot down a few thoughts, and grab the next book. There have been plenty of books that I know I read, but I couldn’t tell you much about them besides whether I liked them or not.

Maybe I should slow down a bit and sit with each book I read for a moment. I doubt it! I want to read so many books! I’m sort of a glutton for books. I want to read all the stories! I will try to journal more about each book. I would like to be able to look back and remember what I read.
