The Wild Robot Escapes by Peter Brown
Second book in The Wild Robot series! My school read the first books as a ‘One Book, One, School’ program and students were quick to come to the library for the next installment. So of course, I had to read it as well!
Roz is on a farm! I was sad to see her away from the island, but happy she was still with animals. I don’t think I could have handled her being in some factory with only metal and machines around her.
I was also worried that Roz would have been reprogrammed and forgotten her life on the island. I thought the book was going to start with her being just like all the other robots, and then suddenly something makes her remember. Nope! She remembers it all from the start! She remembers Brightbill and all the animals who tried to save her on the island.
Because she remembers everything, Roz wants to escape and get back to her island and her son, Brightbill. But she also cares for her new family. I was torn because I, too, wanted her to get back to the island, but I felt she was doing so much good on the farm, and everyone seemed to love her; I didn’t want her to leave. Roz is just amazing!
Throughout the book Roz again has remarkable adventures and makes friends everywhere she goes. I love this series. I love Roz! Super cute book. Even though I am not big on movies, I hope they make this book a movie to go along with the first movie.
