Dear Debbie

Dear Debbie by Freida McFadden

Thank you, Netgalley, for letting me read this book in exchange for a review.

I love to read.  I mean, why would I have a book review blog if I didn’t?  But I have recently been seeing a lot of videos on social media of people complaining about certain genres or authors, stating that certain books are not “good” or “well written”. I will say, I read for entertainment. I read to escape my boring life. I read for enjoyment!  Freida McFadden is currently one of my go-to authors for a book that I know I am going to get lost in for a few days. I love the wild ride I know these books will take me on. Dear Debbie did not disappoint.

Debbie has what seems like the perfect life. She is a stay-at-home mother with two teen daughters and a loving husband. She has a part-time job writing an advice column. Maybe you remember Dear Abby? Yeah, just like that. Her husband is an accountant and the family’s main breadwinner.

But Debbie’s life starts to fall apart. Her daughters are starting to have problems and do not want to talk to her about them; her husband seems to be keeping secrets from her; she loses her job; and she is even having trouble with her neighbors.  Her life is messy. Debbie decides that she needs to start taking action. She needs to address all of these issues. And things start to get wild! Her way of dealing with her problems is interesting to say the least. There were a few times where I thought I knew where things were going, but then some twist would happen, and I would be shocked for a bit, but then start to think I had it figured out again, but again, a twist would twist in like a tornado! There was even a part that had me saying “What?!?!” out loud.

There was an epilogue that dropped even more crazy that, which had my jaw on the floor. It was crazy, and I loved every insane minute.
